Jellystone Tabor City, NC

This was our second RV trip ever and we were much better prepared, but pleasantly surprised at the EVENTS campsites make for Halloween, what a FUN time for everyone!

Jellystone is VERY well laid out with spacious sites, even some “Quad” sites (pictured above) so if you’re camping with friends/family you’ll have a large grassy area all blocked in (little bit easier to keep toddlers contained!)

The website is kept up to date with events happening so we were able to plan our days around things the boys would enjoy. There were plenty of crafts, storytimes, and character greetings to keep the littles excited; it was too cool for us to use the splash pad or pools but there were plenty of kids that felt differently. (There is an indoor pool, but we weren’t into dragging wet chilly kids back to the camper) Our favorite experience was trick or treating around the campground-getting candy AND seeing people go ALL OUT with their decorations!

We only brought the littles on this trip but there would be plenty to do for the older kids as well. Basketball court, bike track, Gaga ball, cornhole, laser tag, and the indoor pool are some of the amenities open year round. The themed activities, however, were geared more towards smaller kids ( I doubt our 15 year old would believe he was planting magic seeds, but he would have gone along to make the littles happy).

Meeting Yogi Bear for the first time (Jace had never seen one cartoon before but was in awe the entire weekend!)
Coloring popsicle sticks to mark where we plant our magic seeds
Planting our magic seeds!
Yogi Bear Express “Hey” ride to see what happened to our magic seeds
Success! Our Magic Seeds grew into perfect sized pumpkins!
Trick or Treating-the wagon was a MUST.
We had no idea folks took decorating their campsite for Halloween so seriously. Noted, and we’ll step our game up next year!
Watching TV and enjoying the kids cooking us s’mores!

What we loved:

*This camp keeps a very full and up to date activity calendar; there’s lots of crafts/games/sports to choose from all year long, so keeping kids entertained was much easier!

*We picked a much smarter campsite this time around. Off a main road, so the kids could ride their toys in the road without much worry. It seemed that each site was clean and well maintained, so less dirt tracked back into the rv!

*The creamery. YYYUUUUM. The ice cream and coffee are a MUST

What we didn’t love so much:

Pretty sure this trip was two thumbs up from everyone. We’ve even booked our days for next summer and looking forward to it!
